Can I hold multiple TMI credential at the same time?
+
Yes, you can hold life-long active STMP™ and GTML™ credentials at the same time. You can also simultaneously hold TMP™ and GTML™ certifications. However, keeping TMP™ and STMP™ certifications together doesn't make sense because once you have earned the higher credential, i.e., STMP™, your TMP™ certificate becomes redundant.

Can I obtain a TMI certification without having the required work experience?

Technically yes. Under the TMI QualiFly program, if you have a degree or a full-time qualification from a TMI-recognized or affiliated institution, it may reduce the work experience requirement for a TMI certification. Check details of QualiFly

Do I qualify for a discount if I have obtained my bachelor's/masters from a TMI-recognized university?

What should I do if my candidature gets rejected?

If your candidature gets rejected for some reason, you need to fill in the 'Exam Candidacy Reconsideration Request Form' available at
https://www.tmi.org/your-guide/forms. Along with that, you must also submit a letter stating reasons for reconsideration. Submit both documents within five working days of receiving the candidature disapproval notification.

Can I switch programs if I've already completed my registration?

What is the procedure used by TMI to review application forms?

The submission of an application indicates that you agree to comply with the terms of the auditing process. If your application is picked for an audit, a notification is sent to you carrying the necessary details of the process, required documents, and timelines. You need to fill out the 'Candidacy Audit Response Form' available here and submit here with the required documents mentioned in the form.

How will I receive the study material?

Your study material (the TMI Resource Box) will be shipped to the physical address that you have provided in your myTMI account. Please ensure that your information is correct and complete.

Do I need to pay extra for study materials?

No. The charges for your study material (the TMI Resource Box) are included in the certification fees.

How is the Talent Management body of knowledge (TMBoK™) created?
+
The TMI Talent Management Body of Knowledge (TMI-TMBoK™) is an evolving, organic journal describing the knowledge specifications in various talent management knowledge areas. A large global group of academics, researchers, practitioners, and curriculum developers representing diverse industries, sectors, disciplines, and geographic regions collaboratively keep a vigil on the emerging trends, practices, and challenges and ensure constant enrichment and modifications to the body of knowledge.

Can I buy the TMI Resource Box even if I am not an applicant?

No. The TMI Resource Box is not intended for the open market, and its availability and access are restricted to only authorized users, including candidates pursuing TMI certification programs and instructors.
Exams & Results

How long does the certification process take?

You have a period of 180 days from the date of the payment to study for, prepare for and take your TMI exam. Your exam results will be available immediately upon completing the exam online. Your official TMI credential kit, including your certificate, lapel pin, and more, will be shipped to your address within 3-4 weeks.

What is the exam format?

Can I take my TMI certification exam using my system?

Yes. All TMI exams are proctored online, and you can take them at your convenience after your computer and surroundings are ExamStrong verified.

What IDs are accepted to register for my exam with ExamStrong™?
+
The examinee must carry two valid forms of ID from the list below. Please note that both IDs can either be primary IDs or one primary and one secondary ID.
Primary ID
The primary ID must be an original and valid ID, containing both, the examinee’s photo, and signature.

- Military ID
- State/country ID card
- Employee/school ID
Secondary ID
The secondary ID must be an original and valid ID, containing the examinee’s name and signature, or the examinee’s name and a recent photo.
Please Note: All IDs required must be issued by the country in which the candidate is testing. If the candidate does not have a qualifying primary ID issued from the country they are testing in, an International Travel Passport from their country of citizenship is required, along with a secondary ID.
The first and last name that the candidate uses to register must match exactly the first and last name on both of the IDs that are presented on test day.

How long is the exam?

The TMP™, STMP™, and GTML™ exams each are 120 minutes long.

How many questions are there in the exam?
+
The TMI certification exam is multiple-choice with 60 questions, each question having four choices with one or more options being the correct answer. You do not need to answer every question before moving to the next, and you can review all responses before submitting the exam.

Can I use electronic devices (like mobile phones, digital watches, calculators, etc.) during the examination?

No. You are not allowed to use any electronic devices during the examination. Please read our examinee conduct policy on

Are we allowed to take breaks during the exam?
+
No. The exam is proctored live and must be completed all at once without any breaks.
21.
At what time should I reach the examination venue?
+
You should reach the chosen exam room/location at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time to ensure the exam room and the computer are thoroughly checked, verified, and approved by the TMI-authorized testing body.

What do I need to score to pass the exam?

Unlike those typical academic tests in universities having standardized and fixed qualifications or passing grades or numeric scores, the TMI certification qualification criteria are dynamic - it varies across time and examinee batches. Also, it hinges on a statistical measure of the scores obtained by the global 85 percentile of the examinees in a given time.

When can I expect to get my result?

You can view your results immediately after submitting the online test. You will also get your test results in your email.

What if I am not able to pass my TMI certification exam on the first attempt?
+
If you fail in your first attempt, you will be required to pay a nominal fee of US $50 via myTMI account to retake the exam. Please note that you can apply to reappear right after your examination result gets published.

How will I receive my result?

After you pass the exam, we will publish your result on your myTMI account. You will also receive an email with the Unique Credential code to showcase your digital badge within 3-4 business days of passing the exam. The official TMI credential kit will be issued and delivered to you within 3-4 weeks.

What if I have canceled my exam but want to reapply for it now?
+
If you voluntarily cancel the scheduled examination appointment, you can immediately reapply from your myTMI dashboard by paying a nominal fee of US $50.
28.
How do I reschedule my exam?
+
If you wish to reschedule your exam, you must log in to your myTMI account 72 hours before your scheduled examination. If you are rescheduling within 72 hours before your examination date, you can do so by paying a nominal fee of US $50.

How soon can I schedule my exam?
+
TMI gives applicants 180 days from the date of payment to earn their TMI certification. The first slot to appear for your exam will be available after 45 days from the date of payment.

Renewal and Upgrade

How do I renew my TMI certification?

Simply log into your myTMI account and register for the renewal. In order to receive email reminders from TMI, please make sure to keep your email address current. Once you apply and register for Renewal, you will be required to complete and submit a detailed statement demonstrating your efforts and activities on continued learning in talent management across critical themes specified in the latest version of the TMI Talent Management Body of Knowledge (TMBok™).

When can I start the renewal process?

You can start the renewal process 2 months before the expiry of the current credential. Once you are eligible for renewal, log into your myTMI account and register for the renewal.

How do I renew my credential if I miss the standard renewal deadline?
+
You can renew your credential within the convenience period of maximum 90 days from the expiry date by completing the renewal process. If you fail to do so, the system puts your credential into temporary Freeze or Suspension Mode, with the option to Reactivate your credential within maximum 12 months from date of suspension.

What is the standard credential upgrade policy?

You can upgrade your TMP™ credential to STMP™ subject to fulfilment of the candidacy norms and upon paying the standard applicable upgrade fee of US$ 280.
You will be required to complete and submit a detailed statement demonstrating your efforts and activities on continued learning in talent management across critical themes specified in the latest version of the TMI Talent Management Body of Knowledge (TMBok™).
Please note that a TMP™ credential can be upgraded to STMP™ only after completion of 12 months of award of TMP™. Also, after upgrade to STMP™, your TMP™ Credential will expire.

When can I upgrade my certification?

Once you meet the professional and educational requirements for your next desired certification, and once you have completed at least 1 year of your current certification, upgrading is advised immediately. You can do so through your myTMI account. Also, as soon as you are eligible for upgrade, TMI will send reminder emails to the email address used during exam registration.
Payments & Refunds

What are the available modes of fee payments?

We accept payments via debit/credit cards (including Visa, American Express, and MasterCard), electronic checks, and wire transfers. You can download the invoice from your myTMI dashboard for banking information.

What is the refund policy?

Refund requests made within 24 hours of making the payment will be subject to processing charges of US$ 80. Strictly, no refunds will be issued for registration cancellation requests made after 24 hours of registration.

Can I pay the fee in installments/ parts?

No, payments cannot be made in installments.
Digital Badging

Do I have to pay extra for my badge?
+
No. There will be no additional cost for your digital badge for displaying, storing, managing, and broadcasting your TMI credential.

How do I share my digital badge?

Using CredBadge's sharing options, you can directly share your digital badge on professional networking sites, personal websites or e-mails. Simply log in to your 'myTMl' account, view your result, and select "Share your Credential." Then, connect your CredBadge account and choose your preferred platform to share your digital badge.

Can I get a hard-copy certificate in addition to the digital one?

Yes, you will receive both - a digital badge and the hard copy of your certificate. The official Credential Kit will be shipped to you directly.
Shipping & Logistics

How do I track my TMI Resource Box shipment?

You will get shipment and tracking notifications from the outsourced logistics vendor as soon as your TMI Certification Preparation Kit and Credential kit, is shipped.

Why haven't I received my shipment despite receiving shipment delivered e-mail notification?

Can I change my shipping/mailing address once I have paid the certification fee?

No, you will not be able to change your shipping/ mailing address after you have paid the certification fee. So please make sure that you provide us with the correct address to avoid any hassle at the time of delivery of your TMI Resource Box.

Can I reschedule the date of delivery of my TMI Resource Box?

Yes, it may be possible. Please refer to the shipping details and contact your carrier for rescheduling your shipment delivery date.

What do I do if I received a damaged or wrong set of books?

If you have received the wrong set or damaged books in your TMI Resource Box, please write to TMI Logistics within 24 hours of receipt of your TMI Resource Box. We shall not be able to entertain or accept any complaint after that.

Do I have to pay any additional duties and taxes?

You may have to pay the customs duties and other levies, if any, in your country. As a recipient, you are responsible for the clearance of the TMI Resource Box consignment.

We strongly suggest that you double-check all your pertinent information on your myTMI account before exam completion.
However, if you still need to change your name on the certificate, please write to us via Contact us and attach the required supporting documents. You also need to pay a fee of US $50 for processing the request and the additional US $100 for issuing a different certificate with the new name on it.

How can I inform my employer of the successful completion of my exam?

You must first initiate a service request from your myTMI dashboard if you wish to inform your employer about the achievement. TMI will then notify your employer about the certification achievement.

What is the procedure for obtaining a duplicate certificate?

To get a duplicate certificate in the event of losing your original certificate, you must generate a service request for it from your myTMI dashboard. We charge an additional fee of US$100 for the print and distribution of the certificate.
